Return & Refund Policy

This policy outlines the conditions under which orders may be cancelled, returned, or refunded. Please read it carefully before placing an order.


1) Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled only before shipment. Once an order has been dispatched or handed over to the carrier, it can no longer be cancelled and will be treated as a return request instead.

Approved cancellations are subject to a USD $15 processing and handling fee. This fee covers administrative work, payment processing costs, and currency exchange handling.

The remaining balance will be refunded to the original method of payment.


2) Returns (Change of Mind)

We accept return requests within 14 days of delivery, provided that all of the following conditions are met:

  • The item is unused, unwashed, unsharpened, and unaltered
  • The item is in the same condition as received
  • All original packaging and accessories are intact
  • A return request has been approved in advance

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

For safety and hygiene reasons, any item that shows signs of use, handling, or modification cannot be accepted for return.


3) Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is defective, damaged during transit, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with supporting photos.

In such cases, we will offer a replacement or a full refund. Return shipping costs will be covered or waived as appropriate.


4) Refund Processing

Once a returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method. Please allow several business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.


5) Import Duties, Taxes & Refused Deliveries

Orders shipped internationally may be subject to import duties, VAT, or local taxes, which are the responsibility of the recipient.

If a shipment is refused or returned due to unpaid import duties, taxes, or customs charges, the order is not eligible for refund.


6) Non-Returnable Items

  • Gift cards
  • Sale or discounted items
  • Items returned outside the stated return period
  • Items that are used, damaged, or incomplete

7) Return Authorization

All returns require prior approval. Please contact us at support@japan-knifeshop.com before sending any item back.

Returns sent without authorization may be refused.
