Packing & Delivery Policy

We use Japan Postal Service to ship your orders from Japan.

If Japan Postal Service stop international delivery service to your area, we offer DHL Express or Fedex delivery.

DHL Express or Fedex: the fastest shipping with tracking #, delivery time within 2-9 business days, but it depends on your area when you will receive it.
*DHL and Fedex cannot be delivered to P.O.Box   **This option is not available in some area. We will contact you before shipping, if we can not ship to you. We currently offer a Special Discounted Shipping fee to any area.

Import duties and VAT; taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping fee. Please not that these charges are the buyer's responsibility.

Your order may be subject to VAT, import and/or taxes, which are levied once your package reaches your country. We ship your package DDU, “duties and taxes unpaid”, and we don't collect the VAT, duties and/or taxes and cannot calculate what your charges may be. If you incur these additional charges, they must be rendered in order for your package to clear customs. Please contact your local customs office for more information about your country’s custom policies,

Expedited Shipping (EMS): the fastest shipping with tracking #; delivery time within 4-10 business days, but it depends on your area when you will receive it.
*This option is not available in some area. We will contact you before shipping, if we can not ship to you.

Standard Shipping: the second fastest shipping with tracking # It takes 7-14 business days, but delivery time depends on the destination. 

Economy Shipping: the cheapest shipping method. It takes 14-28 business days but depends on your area.

- We can ship to technically all over the world from Japan. Please remind that there are restrictions on some products so that some products cannot be shipped to outside Japan.  
- Please note that it is the buyer needs to pay the customs duty upon receipt of the item if you need to do that.
- We cannot write incorrect value, because International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

- It takes up to 3~5 business days to ship your orders after your payment as our "handling time" except Saturday, Sunday, Japanese Public holidays.

- Please note that delivery date may be delayed due the state of affairs or strike in the addressee's country, processing speeds at the customs, or for political reasons.

Shipping fee & Insurance Policy

- The shipping fee for items is calculated by item-based and destination. 
- Postal insurance fee is included in the shipping fee (Only Japan Post).
- Damage caused by post office (other than damage by Customs check) can be covered within the range of the insurance.
- Customs sometimes opens packages so you may receive your orders opened by them.

- Here is how you can check the total shipping fee before confirm your order;
 (1) add all the items into shopping cart 
 (2) Choose your country and fill in Zip code, and click the button
 (3) you'll see the total shipping fee for available shipping methods

Payment Policy 

Japan Knife Shop accept payments for merchandise in USD (US dollars).  We don't accept negotiation of price and we do not offer price guarantee on any merchandise for sale on our website. Sometimes, we offer discounts or promotions on our website during the time of offer but please read guideline when it offered.

- The following payment ways are available,

  Credit Card (Visa, Master, JCB, AMEX, Discover, etc)

    **You don't need your PayPal account when you use Credit Card.

    **If you use PayPal when you use Credit Card, click "CHECKOUT with PayPal" when you're checking out. There is a "Pay with a credit card" option

- Please make sure your shipping address and billing address are the same.
- If your shipping address and billing address are different, we may cancel the order because fraudulent acts can be happened. We need to do that to avoid fraud purchase.
- If you want to send your order to the shipping address different from the billing one, please choose Paypal with your Credit Card,
 

Customs and Import Duties for International Orders

- Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
- Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
- These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up.
Please do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

Refund Policy

Returns
Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

You must let us know the reason why you need to return your item before returning the item. We need to ask you some questions to make sure the item can be returned. 

If you don't let us know the reason of return, we can't accept the return request.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
Any item that is returned more than 14 days after delivery

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@japan-knifeshop.com

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

If you refuse to pay import tax or Import duties and VAT; taxes and charges before you receive the item, we cannot accept the return request or refund because it's a law.

Shipping
To return your product, you should mail your product to us.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
